RESPECT

RESPECT meets on the Quadrant estate and is run by local residents with the aim of reviving community spirit. It offers friendship and activities, based at the Eternal Benefits shop on Inglemire Lane. This ‘shop’ acts as a morning pop-in three time a week, giving information (including a library of useful information and books), informal advice, bric a brac, clothes, bedding and small furniture items, and referrals to other agencies.

Regular events are held all year round including: family fun days, youth events, day trips for the elderly, street parties, aerobics, barbecues, sports, visiting speakers, musical acts, and competitions.

Relationships are built in the community, particularly with offenders and ex-offenders through street contact, youth initiatives, hospital visits, prison work and visiting families - much work has been done supporting the families of drug users.
