Church
What sort of a church are we?
We are an independent church without a specific denomination. We began as a ‘house church’, a movement dating back to the 60s. People felt frustrated with the traditional church and so they left to set up small groups, meeting in people's homes and reaching out into the community. Our church has grown and changed over the years, influenced greatly by our work in the community. We are now ecumenical and work closely with other churches of all traditions.
What’s our vision?
To see God’s Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven and to see our lives transformed through love, hope, freedom, wholeness, friendship, and family... our hearts full of the desire to include and accept everyone... our lives filled with worship, praise and love for God... our vision is to become the heart of the community, bringing life, love and hope in Jesus.
What are our services like?
Friendly, lively, welcoming and enjoyable, with great music, good teaching, interesting themes and a whole range of activities for children of all ages.
What do we believe?
Put simply, Jesus came to earth, born of a virgin; He lived, loved and died for us, but rose again, conquering death and ascending to the Father. This good news brings us back into relationship with our father God, bringing freedom and fullness in life both now and for eternity. To find out more, come and join us on a Sunday morning, or drop in during the week for a chat.
Some of the things that we do to help us grow in our faith and journey with Christ…
We gather together as family to worship together and hear the good news on Sunday mornings at 10.30am. We pray together in small groups, with prayer partners, and at joint meetings. Alpha courses help introduce people to the Christian faith. During the week we have groups that meet for Bible study, discussion and prayer. We are involved in many different areas within the community, loving and serving people from all walks of life. We are holistic in approach – caring for people physically, emotionally and spiritually, and accepting people for who they are. We also have regular events that you are welcome to join in.
